"Riding for me began early last year. My intention was to take a few lessons so I would feel more comfortable riding a horse on a holiday. How my life has changed since that first lesson. Immediately I felt a close connection to the horses. Each one is different and has its own personality. I love grooming, tacking and riding them. It has been amazing to see the growth and development of the club which has been evolving into a quality riding academy. The instructors are talented professionals and make riding a wonderful learning experience and a lot of fun. I am in my 70th year so I would recommend taking lessons to anyone who has any interest in horses no matter what age you are. I feel fortunate to be able to develop meaningful relationships with club horses. This experience has added a whole new dimension to my life." Wendy McDonald
"My husband and I have really enjoyed seeing our two children participate in Strathclair's summer camps each year. They've both gone from being barely able to reach the stirrups to doing small jumps (on some pretty big horses). One of the best things about the summer program is that the children gain confidence quickly as a result of riding the horses two times every day. Rather than being a daycare/summer camp, Strathclair's program is fun yet highly educational. In between each of the riding lessons the children learn about equine anatomy, behaviour, care, and also equestrian equipment. I was surprised that our children retained so much of the detailed instruction from one year to the next....and they loved going back! For us, a major advantage is that the program provides the opportunity for equestrian instruction for families that are otherwise too busy throughout the school year. While it's not the same as weekly lessons, the intensity of the instruction and riding frequency during the one week of camp is amazing. Regardless of your past experience with riding, enrolment is highly recommended!"

"My daughter started riding lessons at Strathclair in September 2013. She had no prior experience and had not shown an interest in horses or riding until we spotted a sign on the side of the road advertising fall lessons. Since her first walk through the barn and petting one of her favourite horses Jack she has been hooked ! In the past year and a half there has been many changes and huge progress to the organization in the programming as well as the maintenance and up keep to the farm ! Morale is at an all time high thanks to all who put in many hours of hard work and dedication to make Strathclair a better facility for everyone. Coaches are amazing we are so fortunate to have these wonderful talented ladies teaching each student even in group sessions as an individual rider ! My daughter is always made to feel confident to be riding at her ability yet eagerly waiting to learn and move forward at her pace ! As a mother who is huge on safety and not a rider I truly appreciate this. Since my daughter started lessons I have seen her confidence level rise and self discipline improve as well as her social skills , she will soon be a teenager and I take comfort in the fact that she has found a passion to pursue during the years to come ! We have made many friendships and truly enjoy everything that Strathclair has to offer.. I strongly recommend this facility and can't wait to see what the future holds as everyone keeps striving to make it even greater!"
